SEASON FIVE - EPISODE FOUR
let me just start out by saying - a grade A in this episode is much different than an A would be in say , episode seven , where everything will be a lot tighter , and expected to be a lot better . the grade's are based on an episode to episode scale with a curve , based on ranking from best [ will get the highest grade ] and the curve is set up so that no matter what , the best performance will most likely not be a C .

hype 5-0
hype 5-0 was up first , which must've added some nerves on their end , going first during the very first
regional round . the islanders danced to imma be , by the black eyed peas . i didnt think it was that
bad , it just didn't really have a certain wow factor to it . i liked the spin that josh threw in , however in
the part where they threw the guys , at first i thought he wasn't supposed to fall backwards [ i`m still not
sure ] , which caused the performance transition to weaken , in my opinion .
grade: B

heavy impact
i understand that their good , and extremely light on their feet , however i can never get into their
performances . they danced to say aah , by trey songz featuring fabolous . i liked the backbend in the
center that the one guy did , however i couldn't help but let out a little chuckle when the other guy had
to help him get up by pulling his leg over . they are smooth though , however i just couldn't get into it .
grade: B-

poreotix
let me start off by saying that i disagree with jc to some degree . i agree that they need to put something
else into the performance , that it can't be all isolations , but with a song like day 'n nite , it just has
that one beat to it , that they couldn't really bring a lot to . i'm sure if they got a song like hotel room service
or something they would've been able to put more fluidity in it . i loved the finger tuts though , definitely
the performance highlight .
grade: A-

going into the judges' choices for who would move on , i knew that they wouldn't put poreotix into
battle , so it was pretty much down to heavy impact and hype 5-0 . as much as i wanted them to put in
heavy impact , hype 5-0 was ultimately put into sudden death

swagger crew
i understand that it was probably the weakest performance of the night , but it wasn't necessarily a
bad performance . every crew this season is bringing it hard , and especially on a week like this , you have
to give the performance all you got . dancing to hard , by rihanna , i liked how they highlighted the lone
female , and she had attitude
grade: C

jungle boogie
up to this point of the night , they were certainly the most exciting . i wasn't expecting them to come this
hard at all , but they really brought it to ludacris's how low . they reminded me a lot of live in color ,
maybe it was the getting low , maybe it was the bermuda shorts , i dunno , but i liked them , and their
tricks , energy , and overall performance
grade: A

royal flush
ladies and gentlemen , i'd like to present the award for most improved to royal flush . dancing to jay
sean and lil wayne's down , they definitely seemed a lot stronger than three weeks before , during their
regional performance . everyones said it at least once , i`ll say it again , i loved how much they included .
grade: B

once again , it was time for the judges to choose who would move on , and who would battle it out .
personally , i would've saved jungle boogie first , royal flush second , and sent swagger into battle , and
that was exactly what the judges did .

saltare
also improving from their regional performance , saltare brought in more energy , partner jump roping ,
and actual dancing , including isolations . hotel room service by pitbull allowed the group to
pump the energy level from start to finish , although i was looking forward to them dancing to love drunk ,
one of my personally favorite songs
grade: A

static noyze
wow . thats all i had to say . they brought all the charisma of fanny pak's prom performance , but with
more of a story , and a more memorable ending . whatcha say was a perfect song for this performance ,
and the piano rifts allowed the group to add their dramatic flair .
grade: A+

blueprint cru
saving the best for last , eh ? before regionals , i was incredibly happy that they made it to regionals ,
and i wanted them to make it to nationals after their regional performance , but i knew that it wasn't good
when i found myself saying ' america's best dance crew may be a canadian crew ' . i loved this performance
from start to finish , they added in so much detail , but still kept up the energy , added the guys vogueing ,
and still included a bboy move .
grade: A+

the last judges' choice was up next , and i felt that it wasn't fair at all . every single crew from the east
should've been safe in my opinion . i knew for a fact that the judges were going to save blueprint cru after
that last performance , which i 110% agreed with . with how much the judges' are in love with
saltare , i knew that they'd be saved , which unfortunately left static noyze to battle .

BATTLE - tik tok by ke$ha
i felt bad for static noyze that hype 5-0 got an hour and fifteen minutes to rest , while static had just
performed . anyway , hype 5-0 was up first , and they definitely brought in the energy , anger ,
and creativity that their original performance lacked . swagger came in next , and they looked like they
were going to bring in hard southern charisma , but i felt that this battle performance lacked that just
like their original performance . the only wow moment was the backflip over the two guys at the end . static noyze was last , and i loved their little shuffle intro . they were definitely my favorite . their so
smooth , and i loved the clock trick , the transitions into it were smooth as well . the judges ultimately
saved static noyze first , hype 5-0 second , and eliminated swagger crew , of which i would have done the same

SEASON FIVE - WEST REGIONAL

hype 5-0
presentation - 4 / 5 - at first i was skeptic due to their ' traditional hawaiian outfits ' , but once
they ripped that part off , i really got into it
precision - 8 / 10 - for the amount of energy they brought , they were incredibly precise ,
and they didn't appear sloppy at all . and i loved the end party
tricks and athletics - 7 / 10 - didn't have a lot , but didn't need any more than they put in
showmanship - 13 / 15 - they used a lot of the stage , i liked their transitions , and
they really brought a lot of energy
memorability - 4 / 5 - even though they performed first , i remembered their performance
at the end of the night and was disappointed when they weren't originally saved
total : 36 / 45

heavy impact
presentation - 2 / 5 - i can't say i was glad that they were chosen for regionals ,
but i was willing to give them a chance . once they came out though i just couldn't get into it
precision - 7 / 10 - for a crew that was trying to break overweight stereotypes , they were
really light on their feet and together in the beginning , however the " sexy " part got kind of sloppy in my opinion
tricks and athletics - 7 / 10 - the one that they put it , i was surprised , and it was my
favorite part of the performance , however they kind of paused before it
showmanship - 12 / 15 - they had a lot of transitions , clean lines , and the crowd seemed to
enjoy them
memorability - 3 / 5 - they were alright , i remembered them , but not for all good
reasons
total : 31 / 45

the blended project
presentation - 4 / 5 - i liked them at first , and i wanted them to really have the chance ,
thinking that they most likely wouldn't be picked
precision - 7 / 10 - they were precise for the most part
tricks and athletics - 7 / 10 - i liked how they began and ended the routine with
a backflip and front flip , and the handstand was alright too
showmanship - 11 / 15 - like others have said , you could tell that they were still a young
crew , as they didn't hit has hard as other crews , and comparing them to Hype 5-0 before them , there
wasn't much of a chance
memorability - 2 / 5 - i just kind of remembered them as the " young clogging crew "
total : 31 / 45

breakefx
presentation - 3 / 5 - nothing really stood out about them at first to me , except for the
fact that i liked their crew name
precision - 8 / 10 - for a ' breaking ' crew , they threw in a lot of choreography , and were
incredibly precise ( compared to past bboy crews such as massive monkees )
tricks and athletics - 9 / 10 - what i liked about them was that they started with some ,
threw some in the middle , and ended with some . they spread them out and there wasn't too many
showmanship - 13 / 15 - halfway through the performance , i could feel myself
rooting for them . i wanted them to make it in , they seemed fun and like they would bring good performances
memorability - 2 / 5 - i loved their ending , and that was what i remembered from
their routine going into the final judges choice
total : 35 / 45

poreotics ( poreotix )
presentation - 4 / 5 - i really had high expectations for them , and i liked their
" small eyes , we like robots " answer when mario asked about the glasses
precision - 10 / 10 - obviously their specialty . and like jc said , they tutted to taylor swift ,
and it was " dope " . the only thing that kind of irked me was how before the love story part began , they began the
prior part symmetrical , but then ended up all facing the same way
tricks and athletics - 7 / 10 - they didn't really have any tricks at all , but it was not needed
showmanship - 14 / 15 - their personality outshone the simplicity of their moves ,
and it was an entertaining , fun performance
memorability - 5 / 5 - it was my favorite routine of the night , and of course i
remembered the " robot guys dancing to tay swift "
total : 40 / 45

SEASON FIVE - EAST REGIONAL

legendary seven
presentation - 2 / 5 - they had decent presentation , you could see the determination .
however choosing the same song that they used on americas got talent kind of started them off bad with me
precision - 7 / 10 - they began completely together and i loved the introduction ,
however i felt like once the tricks began they got sloppy
tricks and athletics - 9 / 10 - obviously , this is where they shine . they had a lot of unique
ones , such as the section in the beginning where e-knock was spinning on top of the other dancer ,
however they lost togetherness in the trick section
showmanship - 10 / 15 - they most of the stage on parts and had nice transitions ,
and obviously improved in several categories { including this one } since season one
memorable moments - 3 / 5 - right after their performance , i thought " wow , this
was a big improvement , i'll remember them " , but right after draZtik's performance , legendary
seven just completely slipped my mind
total : 31 / 45

draZtik
presentation - 3 / 5 - they had a decent first impression , nothing particularly good or
bad that i could say about it
precision - 8 / 10 - they really played off of each other well , and seemed very together
at parts
tricks and athletics - 6 / 10 - i'm just doing this from memory , as i don't have the
performances in front of me { unlike the south regionals } , but i don't really remember any huge tricks that
stood out to me
showmanship - 13 / 15 - i loved their performance from the beginning , and they used
the stage , played incredibly well together , and had nice transitions . i loved the slow - quicker - quick pace ,
however i agree with lil mama that it did lack dimension { i'm not sure i'd use that word though }
memorable moments - 2 / 5 - the only really part i remember was the beginning of the
britney spears " shattered glass " part , where the girls strutted down center stage
total : 32 / 45

blueprint cru
presentation - 4 / 5 - they were hyped up a lot before the episode , but they still
seemed humble , and played it off well
precision- 10 / 10 - i cannot not give them a 10 here . i loved it . it was my favorite of the
night , they were completely together , i loved so many parts , and they still gave additional flare
tricks and athletics- 8 / 10 - there was not a lot at all , but they way they fit the few
into the routine seemed perfect
showmanship- 13 / 15 - for a crew that's more precision than energy / tricks to bring the
energy level that they { and static noyze } brought , i was impressed . the only part that looked awkward to
me was when the one member was doing the bboy moves .
memorable moments - 4 / 5 - all around , i remembered there routine , and i wanted to
put it on repeat after it ended
total : 39 / 45

static noyze
presentation - 4 / 5 - they seemed quirky , fun , and determined to be different
precision- 8 / 10 - i liked the togetherness that they brought , and like the judges said ,
meshed well together
tricks and athletics- 7 / 10 - from what i remember , they didnt do a lot , but i loved
the part where the girl got lifted up in front . from their choreography however i don't really think that they
need a lot of athletics involved
showmanship- 12 / 15 - they changed formations a lot , and i liked the transitions ,
and i liked the personalities and spirit that they brought
memorable moments - 3 / 5 - i remembered their personality and spirit more so than
parts of the routine , with the exception of the girl being lifted
total : 34 / 45

saltare
presentation - 4 / 5 - they seemed fun , yet professional , and i like that their crew name
actually meant something
precision- 7 / 10 - some moments definitely seemed kind of sloppy and awkward
tricks and athletics- 10 / 10 - i was amazed with what they were doing while jumproping
showmanship- 13 / 15 - they definitely used the stage and brought a lot of energy
memorable moments - 4 / 5 - i remembered their whole routine . they did amazing
tricks , while jumproping . i was wowed
total : 38 / 45

SEASON FIVE - SOUTH REGIONAL

jungle boogie
presentation - 4 / 5 - i like that they had a theme , and their initial energy carried into their performance
precision - 7 / 10 - they opened up with the bounce intro and were very together at first ,
however they lost this togetherness as the routine picked up
tricks and athletics - 7 / 10 - the "mexican wrestling" move was eye catching ,
however it got sloppy , whichreally made it lose some of its effect . they had other rolls and flips here
and there that were decent
showmanship - 13 / 15 - they moved around a lot and changed formations , as well as
brought a lot of energy . they used their jungle theme with animal effects into the performance , which i liked
memorable moments - 2 / 5 - their only really memorable moment was their partner move , however it was sloppy
total : 33 / 45

ghost
presentation - 4 / 5 - they really took over the ghost thing , from contacts to their facial expressions , they
brought that eerie personality into the whole thing
precision - 9 / 10 - obviously , this was their specialty . they really were on top of it for most of the performance ,
however once the second song came in , they lost some of the togetherness
tricks and athletics - 3 / 10 - they didn't really bring anything special into the performance on the line of
tricks , and i feel a simple backflip would've vastly improved their chances of moving on
showmanship - 9 / 15 - for the most part , they didn't bring a lot of energy , and they stayed in the same stage
location for the better half of the performance
memorable moments - 4 / 5 - i definitely remembered them after they performed , from their facial
expressions and contacts , to the isolations and tracing sections , to the transition from song a to b , they
had memorable performance features
total : 29 / 45

x-treme motion
presentation - 3 / 5 - the whole ' xtreme ' thing is kind of played out in my opinion , and they initially
reminded me a lot of sass x7 + fly khicks
precision- 4 / 10 - the only parts of the performance that were really together were the bucking section and
the moves leading up to the ending poses
tricks and athletics- 7 / 10 - the crew included a few splits , cartwheels , and turns
showmanship- 14 / 15 - they brought a lot of energy { in my opinion , most of the night } , brought in
their feminine flare , and appealed to all viewpoints on the stage
memorable moments - 4 / 5 - all around , i remembered their performance . the bucking they
did was fun , and they brought too much energy to forget
total : 32 / 45

swagger crew
presentation - 4 / 5 - the name swagger fits with them well , they brought a lot of diversity , and
the jackets remind me of supreme soul , which isnt a bad thing
precision- 8 / 10 - they included good isolations , i think it was their formations that made them
kind of awkward though
tricks and athletics- 6 / 10 - they only really included one trick , a flip in the middle of the
routine , however they presented it well , and with the rest of their performance , they didn't
necessarily need more
showmanship- 13 / 15 - a lot of their formations were similar , however they did include a lot
of changing them . they highlighted several different crew members throughout , and utilized
facial expressions
memorable moments - 3 / 5 - they were pretty generic until they got into the ice cream paint job
section , and they didn't really have a " moment " though
total : 34 / 45

royal flush
presentation - 3 / 5 - i like their name , and knowing that they finally made the show on their fifth try ,
i found myself rooting for them to do good
precision- 7 / 10 - they tried to include several isolations , and remained pretty together
throughout the performance
tricks and athletics- 9 / 10 - definitely their speciality , and best tricks of the night
showmanship- 10 / 15 - they used the stage and showcased several different performers , however
they could have improved the card usage , and upped the energy
memorable moments - 3 / 5 - they included a couple memorable tricks , mostly the double
back-handspring - backflip - frontflip
total : 32 / 45
